The 9 to 5 Rebels 12 Week Course:
July 20, 2009
Want to know the GREATEST feeling in the World as an entrepreneur? It’s the moment you complete a project-I’m talking START to FINISH! I want to introduce you to MY completed project: http://www.9to5Rebels.com
Is there an Internet Lifestyle?
The last 8 months have been a CRAZY journey! I started realityMASTERMIND as a website to document my entire process as I figured out all of this Internet Marketing stuff so that I too could find that “Internet Lifestyle!” Along the way, I found that there really is no Internet Lifestyle: An Online Business is the same as any other business except for two very important things:
1. Cost of Entry is WAY Cheaper Online!
2. It is EASIER to create systems that work for YOU!
With the combination of those two elements, you have FREEDOM. You don’t have a boss telling you what to do, you don’t have to say no to vacations, friends, family, etc because “you have to work.” You work when you want!
I’m not here to say ANY of this is easy! The countless distractions, offers, products, and components of Internet Marketing makes this a difficult task! It takes dedication, motivation and extreme FOCUS to succeed online. If you can do that, then you can live a LIFESTYLE leveraged by the power of the Internet!
What is 9 to 5 Rebels?
The best way to learn quickly and efficiently is to emulate the experts. So that is exactly what I did! My 12 week course on 9 to 5 Rebels is a collection of interviews from the leading Marketers themselves as they discuss their most successful strategies on every Internet Marketing topic imaginable (SEO, Copywriting, Traffic, List-Building, etc)
What a Journey!
It really has been quite a journey so far! Even though I finally put something out there for the World to see, it is ONLY the beginning! I am currently working on TON of other projects that I will keep you posted on.
I would love all of your feedback on www.9to5Rebels.com. You can get your hands on a FREE 5-Part Video Series that documents my entire business-building experience (from START to FINISH!)

Why Time Management is a WASTE of TIME
April 9, 2009
by Michael J. Alaniz
If I were to ask you “What is your definition of time management?” What would you say? Do you even have one? Now what if I were to tell you “Time management is a Joke!” Would you keep reading this post? Well I hope you do, because it’s going to be worth your time (yeah, that was a cheap shot J).
So with that said here is why I believe the study of time management is actually a WASTE of time. Time was never the problem to begin with. Yes, there are only so many hours in a day, but being productive is not about jamming as much as you can between sunrise to sunset. It’s all about moving yourself closer towards a worthwhile goal. Now of course it takes time to have growth, but time management is simply a by-product of focusing on priorities.
The term “time management” is deceiving because it inspires a linear way of thinking where there is point A (beginning of the day) and point B (end of the day). The game, according to time management is to somehow control what you do within each time slot as you move from point A to point B. This strategy however does not mesh well with reality. The real game of life is played in a multidimensional world where opportunities and growth are ALWAYS found outside these safe parameters we’ve set up for ourselves. Do you think Henry Ford, Thomas Edison or Warren Buffet credit their success to time management? How was it they were able to get so much done during a period of time with no cell phones, faxes or computers?
So what’s the answer? We’ll if you’ve got a few years to spare you can check google and sift through the 208 million results for the key words “time management.” How do I know this? I checked just before writing this article. What I CAN offer you however is story, but in case you’re in a rush and you can’t read the story here’s the bottom line.

Good time management is simply the result you get when you focus most of your time on your priorities. When you are consistently focusing on what’s most important you are able to ride the wave of time and make good split decisions by measuring them against your priorities.
Now here’s a story for those of you that DO have the time.
A teacher of mine once demonstrated time management with this simple experiment. She took a large glass and filled it with rocks. She then asked our economics class “Is it full?” “Yes” we replied. She then took sand and carefully poured it into the glass, it slowly filled the gaps between the rocks and she then asked “NOW…is it full?” After a moment of silence we gained our confidence and replied, “Yes!”
Only to add insult to injury she then took out a glass of water and poured it into the glass until water began to pour over the edges. We knew what was coming next…”Is it full?” she asked. No one wanted on answer, who knew what she had up her sleeve next? Already knowing we’d be hesitant to look foolish for a third time she moved on to her final question…“What did you learn?”
Personally, all I had learned was that our teacher liked to make us look foolish, but I was about to discover the secret to true time management.
Our economics teacher then said “I hope what you LEARNED is that I would NOT have any room for the big rocks if I put them in last.” Think about it. There is no room for the “big rocks” if you put them in last. These large rocks are symbolic of priorities and unless we put those FIRST each day we will find ourselves quickly overtaken by the small and insignificant things that quickly fill our day.
As you go about the rest of your day today don’t worry about managing the hour, instead manage yourself by spending most of your time on your priorities. Don’t worry what your doing hour by hour, as long you can end each day with most of your time spent on your priorities then your winning the game. Everything else will fall into place.
The (Go-Kart) Track to Success & Internet Riches
November 8, 2008
While we did end up “Racing for Pinks,” our initial intention for coming to an Indoor Go-Kart Track was to attend our monthly Orange County Internet Marketing Meet-Up group. Michael and I were fortunate enough to present our “realityMastermind Concept” to the group, but we also opened our doors to invite more “Guest-Masterminders” to brainstorm with us at our meetings.
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHnDaOqBixU]
The Result:
We had a ton of successful Marketers approach us asking to be apart of the project. We are so excited to be working with others who are willing to share their ideas and help us learn and grow.
What We Have for YOU:
The dynamic of our Mastermind meetings has simply been incredible! Having a guest come in and join us all day has been truely remarkable (mainly because we really don’t know what we are doing!) I would love to extend the invitation to YOU and ask that you come and join us on our show.
The Benefits of Masterminding with Us:
- You get to hang out with a couple of cool guys
- We will promote you & your website
- You will be featured on our TV Show
- You’ll get that funny feeling inside knowing that you are making an impact on our lives
- …and we may just teach you a thing or two (though highly doubtful)
Please Contact us if you are interested in becoming one of our Guest-Masterminders by filling out the Contact Form on our website.

About me:
I have been an entrepreneur before I even knew what the word meant. I am not a “get – rich – quick” kinda guy though so I haven’t fallen for any of these internet scams promising outrageous income with little to no effort. I believe any lasting accomplishment must be carefully built on a solid foundation and that takes time and a hell of a lot of work. I think its most important to not be afraid to fail. . .a lot!
The last thing being successful is about is being perfect. I simply strive for progress. www.BartendLA.com is my first site and its product “Behind The Bar” took me 9 months to create – what an experience! There is nothing like selling a product you’ve created and hearing positive feedback from customers. Ultimately my goal is that each of my products / e-books brings value to someones life – I’m not simply in this for entertainment. I simply believe that people should be compensated for the value they bring to the marketplace / peoples lives and I intend to flood it!

Why Mastermind? This is something I have been wanting to create for over a year. After meeting James we realized we were on the same page and saw no reason in wating any longer to create something like this.
Ultimately I believe people can accomplish more together than apart. Plus there’s probably going to be a lot of Happy Hours!
One Word Description: RELENTLESS
Best Attribute: My pecs, oh wait! I mean my creativity.
Worst Attribute: Letting things go. I have beat many a dead horse in my day.
